JUST IN: PDP Chairman Opens Up On What He Passed Through In Kidnapper’ Den

The chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tony Aziegbemi, has shared his harrowing experience during his abduction.

Without saying so much of what he passed through, Aziegbemi simply expressed a heartfelt prayer that his worst enemies would never endure what he went through.

Aziegbemi was abducted by six gunmen at the entrance of his house after a meeting with Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki at the government house on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11 pm. He was held captive for 11 days before being released on March 26, 2024.

While in captivity, the kidnappers demanded a ransom of N500 million for his release, although the exact amount paid remains undisclosed.

Speaking on his ordeal during a visit from the Deputy Governor of the state, Philip Shaibu, for Easter celebrations at his residence in Benin City on Sunday, Aziegbemi recounted the challenging moments he faced.

“I would not wish anyone, even my worst enemies, to go through the ordeal I had in the kidnappers’ den,” he shared.

Shaibu, accompanied by friends and political associates, expressed gratitude for Aziegbemi’s safe return and emphasized his personal connection to the family.

“We came to celebrate Easter with our chairman and also thank God for his safe return home from the den of kidnappers. I had a personal bond with the family of Aziegbemi. Don’t forget I am the godfather to Aziegbemi’s twin babies,” he remarked.
