JUST IN: Major Fear Grips Abia Workers As Gov Otti’s Govt Issues Fresh Directive

Abia State government has directed civil and public servants in the state who have not yet uploaded their credentials online to do so promptly for their own benefit.

The instruction came from the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu, during a press briefing in Umuahia following this week’s state executive council meeting chaired by Governor Alex Otti.

Concerns have arisen among some civil servants in the state since the commencement of this exercise.

Kanu revealed that a total of 36,875 academic certificates and 25,458 career documents have been successfully uploaded online as part of the ongoing exercise mandated by the state government.

He further noted that 7,582 certificates have been forwarded to respective institutions for verification.

The Commissioner clarified that while many workers have already complied by uploading their credentials, the state government’s directive is not intended to punish civil servants, contrary to claims by the Abia State chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).
