JUST IN: Kidnappers free Lagos Fire Director
The abducted director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mr Musbau Rasak has been freed.
The kidnapped fire boss was dumped on Itokin-Epe Road around 12 am.
The fire boss was reportedly kidnapped on Saturday on his way to Epe by the gunmen who later disappeared through the waterways near the cenotaph erected in honour of the victims of the ill-fated ADC crash on November 7, 1996 around 8 pm.
Following Musibau’s abduction, New Telegraph gathered that residents and motorists travelling to the remote areas in the state, especially Epe and other suburbs close to the creeks had expressed concerns on the possibility of kidnappers to operate freely in the state specifically during the transition period.
The State’s Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, denied resurgence of kidnappers in the state.
Allaying the fear, Muazu said that Lagos remains safe for residents, adding that all hands are on deck to ensure his safe return, as well as other victims.

Briefing journalists after the State Security Council Meeting Muazu had said: “This present case does not mean that the spate of kidnapping has returned to Lagos. You knew when there used to be kidnapping in Lagos and the situation now. I see this as a very unfortunate incident and I assure Lagosians that all the security agencies are putting their heads together to ensure we put a stop to this menace.”
