JUST IN: Kano Police Issues Urgent Directive As Court Delivers Judgement On Sanusi, Bayero Tussle

The Kano State Police Command has issued an urgent directive as the Federal High Court delivers judgment in the Kano Emirate tussle.

The Police directed the public to remain calm and patriotic as the Federal High Court prepares to hear sensitive cases related to the Emirship dispute.

In a statement released on Thursday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, emphasized the commitment to safeguarding lives and property, cautioning against any attempts to incite violence.

“In collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, the command will strictly enforce the ban on public protests, processions, and unlawful gatherings imposed by the state government,” Kiyawa stated. “Violators and their sponsors will face legal consequences.”

He assured that “adequate security personnel will be deployed to maintain law and order” and urged the public to “cooperate with the security forces and provide actionable information to preserve peace and detect deviants.”

Kiyawa also advised, “Non-state actors, including vigilantes and hunters, are advised to refrain from participating in security operations under any guise.”
