IGP Alkali Baba Suspends Tinted Windscreen Permits In Nigeria
The Nigerian Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, has stated that tinted vehicle windscreen permits will be suspended immediately.
On Monday, Baba made the news during a meeting with senior police personnel from throughout Nigeria, including commissioners and DIGs.
While making the announcement, the IGP stressed that roadblocks are still illegal in the country, warning that chiefs of commands must implement the prohibition and focus on the road patrol plan as a substitute for roadblocks.
President Muhammadu Buhari named Usman Baba as interim Inspector General of Police on April 6.
His confirmation came during a meeting of the Police Council, which was presided over by the President on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
