Gunmen Kidnap Eight Family Members In Kaduna

A family of eight, as well as a few other residents in Zaria’s Kofar Gayan neighborhood, has been kidnapped by gunmen.

The raid came just two days after eight students and two teachers at Zaria’s Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic were kidnapped. During the incident, a student was also killed.

The latest incident was confirmed by Mohammed Jalige, the state police public relations officer.

He did say, though, that he was seeking to learn more about the attack.

He, however, said he was trying to gather more details on the attack.

According to NAN, the incident occurred at about 12am on Saturday night around Government Girls Secondary School, Kofar Gayan area of the state.

NAN quoted Abdullahi Mohammed, a resident of the area, as saying no fewer than 12 people were abducted during the attack.

Mohammed reportedly said about eight people were kidnapped from a single house, while others were picked separately.

Hafsat Kusfa, a daughter of one of the victims, was quoted to have said that the bandits broke into their home around 12.01am and assembled them in front of the house.

She added that the bandits, who were about seven in number and carrying guns and marchets, took away eight members of her family, including her parents and siblings.

Kusfa, however, said her parents, as well as some of the kidnapped victims, were later released through the efforts of security men who intercepted the hoodlums.
