Gov Fubara Finally Reveals What Will Happen To 26 Pro-Wike Lawmakers

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has revealed the fate of the pro-Nyesom Wike lawmakers who duped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Fubara also announced that his administration has begun preparations for the 2025 budget, prioritizing education, healthcare, and agriculture.

The Governor reaffirmed that the seats of Martin Amaewhule and other state lawmakers who defected from the PDP to the APC remain vacant. He emphasized that these lawmakers voluntarily left the party platform on which they were elected and are expected to return home.

During a solidarity visit from opinion leaders, women, and youths of Etche and Omuma Local Government Areas, led by Ogbakor Etche at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara expressed confidence in the state’s governance despite the defections. This visit was detailed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Nelson Chukwudi.

Governor Fubara urged the former lawmakers to recognize the smooth sailing of the state’s governance. He assured that the 2025 budget would address critical areas, particularly agriculture, to benefit the peace-loving people of Rivers State.

“Agriculture is an area we have promised to prioritize in our 2025 budget,” Fubara said. “We are committed to ensuring our children attend quality schools, even public ones, and receive excellent healthcare services in government-owned facilities.”

Fubara emphasized the importance of providing quality education and healthcare, as well as promoting agriculture to tackle unemployment and reduce crime. “Engaging our youths in agriculture will keep them away from crime and secure our state,” he added.

He clarified that his administration is not in conflict with anyone and will continue to appreciate those who have supported him. However, he stated that loyalty does not mean losing one’s liberty or discretion, asserting his determination not to be a Governor who is easily swayed.

Governor Fubara reiterated his commitment to the well-being and development of Rivers State, focusing on key areas that will enhance the quality of life for its citizens.
