No more 8K, Dapo Abiodun reveals what President Tinubu will do with subsidy money

Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun says President Bola Tinubu is likely to expend monies from the fuel subsidy on purchasing CNG buses and distributing them countrywide.

Governor Abiodun made this known in an interview on Channels TV following plans by his government to give 10,000 naira to public sector workers to cushion them from the bite of the removal of the fuel subsidy.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu botched his earlier plan to pay N8,000 to 12 million Nigerian families for six months to cushion the effects of petrol subsidy removal.

The President has since called for a review of his initial plan.

“I am not sure that the President Bola Tinubu’s administration is very disposed to distributing 8 thousand naira per household, I am sure about that but this is what we discussed at NEC,” he told Seun Akinbaloye

“I am sure that leaning to expending such expenditure on energy transition. For example, purchasing CNG buses or purchasing electric vehicles and distributing them across the length and breadth of this country.”
