Gani Adams, Yorubas Blast Buhari Govt Over DSS Detention Of Sunday Igboho’s Relatives
Iba Gani Adams and other leaders of the South-West Security Stakeholders Group (SSSG), a Yoruba-led coalition, have criticized the arrest of people at Sunday Igboho’s Soka residence in Ibadan, Oyo’s capital.
The Department of State Services (DSS) reported on July 1 that 13 of the Yoruba agitator’s associates had been apprehended.
The media was later given access to the weapons stash, charms, passports, and other material discovered by the secret agency.
The SSSG demanded the immediate release of the Igboho’s imprisoned friends on Thursday.
Adewole Ireti, the Publicity Secretary, made the demand following an emergency meeting at Adams’ Omole Phase 2 mansion, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland.
The meeting of activists and groups from the South West criticized the DSS’s raid on Igboho’s home.

According to the group, the incident demonstrated that Nigeria’s democracy is in jeopardy, and it urged the federal government to exhibit caution.
The SSSG expressed regret for the recent massacre of “about 50 people” in Igangan, but pledged to continue its efforts to safeguard the South-West from dangerous Fulani herders.
“It is most unfortunate that Sunday Igboho could be attacked in such a cruel manner that also led to the death of eight persons. It is purely a dangerous signal to our democracy,
“Why on earth will the presidency hail the crude attack by the DSS? It is an infringement on his rights as a person. It is also an indication that the nation is drifting towards a tailspin.
“As a group that is determined to secure the South-West region, we will not fold our arms and allow the criminal Fulani herdsmen to overrun our communities. We also will not relent in our efforts in ensuring a safe region,” Ireti said.
The SSSG appealed to prominent Yoruba leaders, including traditional rulers, not to leave Igboho alone to suffer injustice against the Yoruba race.
