Fuel Subsidy: Cleric Warns NLC Over Planned Nationwide Protest
Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahya Jingir, the National Chairman of Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiat Wa-Ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), has warned that the Nigeria Labour Congress’s (NLC) scheduled statewide protest may not be the solution to Nigeria’s problems.
The cleric issued the warning in an interview with reporters at the start of the 2021 National Qur’anic Competition in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
The NLC has cautioned the Federal Government against plans to eliminate the fuel subsidy in 2022, stating that any action will be met with widespread protests from January 27 to February 1, 2022.
He claims that the scheduled statewide mass protests will simply make things worse for Nigerians rather than provide a solution to the problem.
For a solution to the problem, Jingir urged that the NLC look forward to meetings between the Federal Government, traditional and religious authorities.
“I am not in support of any protest in the country, and I am not supporting the proposed fuel hike by federal government either.
Exposed!! Popular Abuja doctor revealed how men can naturally and permanently cure poor erection, quick ejaculation, small and shameful manhood without side effects. Even if you are hypertensive or diabetic . Stop the use of hard drugs for sex!! It kills!
“Nothing good comes from a protest in Nigeria, Look at what happened in EndSARS protest nothing positive comes out rather than killing and destruction of properties,” he said.
Commenting on the insecurity situation in the country, the cleric called on Nigerians to resort to self-defence against the incessant attacks on their communities.
Jingir however called on the Federal Government to probe the financial spending of those responsible for securing the lives and property of Nigerians.
