Fresh Trouble As FG Moves Against Fubara’s Loyalists
The federal government has brought forth terrorism charges against four individuals in Port Harcourt, accusing them of orchestrating the invasion, vandalism, and arson of the Rivers State House of Assembly last year.
The accused, identified as Chima Eguma Ezebalike, Prince Lukman Oladele, Kenneth Goodluck Kpasa, Osiga Donald, and Ochueja Thankgod, are suspected loyalists of Siminalaye Fubara of Rivers State.
In a 7-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/25/2024, obtained by our correspondent, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun is listed as the complainant. The charges include allegations of conspiring to commit acts of terrorism by willful destruction of public properties, specifically invading, attacking, destroying, and setting fire to the Rivers State House of Assembly on October 29, 2023, at Moscow Road in Port Harcourt.
The accused are further implicated in the tragic killing of Superintendent of Police Bako Agbashim and five police informants—Charles Osu, Ogbonna Eja, Idaowuka Felix, Paul Victor Chibuogu, and Saturday Edi—at Ahoada community in the state. The charges also allege their involvement in utilizing various cult groups, including Supreme Viking Confraternity, Degbam, Iceland, and Greenland, to sow mayhem in the state and disrupt commercial activities.
