FG Set To Reopen Schools
As students in Nigeria yearn to go back to school, the Federal Government of Nigeria has assured Nigerians that schools would be resuming soon.
During a briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 on Monday, August 24, 2020, in Abuja, the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba said the Federal Government has engaged stakeholders and disclosed that, no particular date has been fixed yet for the full resumption of schools.
This development has occurred as a result of the activities and happenings around the coronavirus pandemic, Nairametrix reports.
Still on the resumption date, Nwajiuba encouraged students to exercise more patience and while the Federal Ministry of Education was works with stakeholders for the safe reopening of schools.
Meanwhile, the issue of adherence to protocols was raised after guidelines for the safe reopening had been given to the higher institutions.
On the way forward concerning this issue, Nwajiuba and the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, have met with some stakeholders in tertiary education.
