FCT Council Chair’s Aide Confirmed Dead Hours After Returning From Election Duty

An Assistant Superintendent of NSCDC, Mohammed Kabir, who is also one of the security aides attached to the Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Alhaji Abubakar Jibrin Giri, is dead.

In a statement, spokesman of the chairman, Ibrahim Yamawo, said the officer died around 11pm on Sunday at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH) after a brief illness.

He was said to have complained of severe headache after he returned from an election duty in his home state, Kogi and he was rushed to the hospital, where he died.

He said that Alhaji Giri expressed sadness over the death, describing him as a very dedicated aide.

He added that the remains of Kabir had been taken to his hometown in Ankpa LGA of Kogi State for burial.
