Fani-Kayode Begs Nigerians To Forgive Isa Pantami Over Past Statements On Terrorism

Femi Fani-Kayode, the former Minister of Aviation, has asked Nigerians to forgive Isa Pantami, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, for his previous comments on terrorism.

According to NEWS DIRECT, Pantami once expressed his joy at the killing of those he considered to be infidels.

This was stated in three audio recordings of the minister’s teachings from the 2000s, when he condemned the deadly operations of Al Qaeda and Taliban forces who were on a mission to obliterate the West and conquer other parts of the world.

Mr Pantami said, “Whenever unbelievers are killed, we are all happy.” “However, the Sharia prohibits us from killing them without cause.”

He went on to say, “Our zeal (hamasa) does not take precedence over our observance of the sacred law.”

Pantami claimed in his submission, in response to audience questions about his views on Osama Bin Laden, the then-leader of the terrorist group, that he still finds the jihadist leader to be a better Muslim faithful to himself.

On Saturday, however, the minister retracted his remarks, stating he had “modified some positions taken in the past based on new facts and maturity.”

Despite renouncing the views, Nigerians continue to demand that President Buhari fire him in order to protect the country’s critical security details.

Fani-Kayode, who had previously chastised Pantami, responded with a tweet on Monday, pleading with Nigerians to forgive the minister.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “Pantami has expressed his regrets about his past comments. As true Christians, we are compelled to forgive him. If he is truly sorry God will forgive him too. If he is not God will judge him.

“Whichever way I believe we should move on and leave him to God.

“The Defender of the Faith, the Champion of the Kingdom, the Soldier of Christ & the Beloved of the Lord has forgiven you Hon. Min.!

“Go and sin no more!”
