Ex-APC National Official Writes US, EU, UK To Tell Tinubu To Go Over Forgery

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Timi Frank, has urged international bodies including the European Union, United States, United Kingdom, and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to intervene, requesting President Bola Tinubu’s resignation due to alleged certificate forgery.

Frank claimed that evidence exists indicating that Tinubu forged the certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) during the 2023 presidential election. According to Frank, this act disqualifies Tinubu under Section 137(1)(j) of the Nigerian Constitution, which bars individuals with forged certificates from holding the office of President.

The Chicago State University (CSU) recently stated under oath that someone named “Bola A. Tinubu” attended the school but denied issuing a diploma certificate to him. Frank called on democratic organizations, former Presidents, retired Supreme Court Justices, labor unions, student associations, medical and legal bodies, as well as civil society groups, to mobilize mass action demanding Tinubu’s resignation.

He emphasized the need for ECOWAS to prevent Tinubu from continuing as its chairman, asserting that his legitimacy had been compromised due to the established forgery. Frank argued that Tinubu’s continuation in office would undermine democratic standards and international charters subscribed to by Nigeria, ECOWAS, and the African Union.
