BREAKING: Kidnapped Agric Varsity Students In Benue Released

The students kidnapped last Saturday from the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi, Benue State, have been released.

The students were returned to campus on Tuesday, according to a terse statement from the University’s Director of Information, Protocol, and Public Relations, Mrs. Rosemary Waku.

Israel Farren Kwaghgee and Solomon Salihu were the students who were released, according to her.

She did not state if the students were released after a ransom was paid.

Remember that a University official told our correspondent that the kidnappers had contacted one of the students’ parents and demanded a ransom of N20 million.

The students have been released, according to DSP Catherine Anene, a spokesperson for the state Police Command.

Despite the fact that Anene stated on Monday that three students had been abducted, she did not specify the number of students who had been released by the abductors.

“Kidnapped University of Agriculture students have been released unharmed. Please continue the investigation into the case,” Anene said in the letter.
