Drama In Senate As Akpabio, Senate Leader Clash (VIDEO)

A minor disagreement occurred between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele during Tuesday’s plenary session over the timing of a recess.

Both lawmakers, members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), were discussing when to adjourn the session. Akpabio had directed Bamidele to propose a break with plans to reconvene later in the day.

When Bamidele stood to speak, he requested to proceed with the next agenda instead. Akpabio promptly interrupted, insisting on taking a break immediately. A vote was held, and Akpabio’s motion to adjourn was approved.

After Bamidele declined to move the motion for recess, Akpabio asked the new Senate Chief Whip, Senator Muhammed Tahir Monguno, to propose the break.
