Court Takes Action Against 7 Yoruba Nation Members For Hijacking Govt Radio Station
An Oyo State Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, has ordered the remand of seven people who allegedly hijacked programming at a radio station in the city and claimed to be agitators for Yoruba Nation.
The Magistrate, P. O. Adetuyi ordered that the suspects should be remanded at Abolongo Correctional Facility in Oyo town.
Recall the Amuludun 99.1 FM in Ibadan was hijacked in May by Yoruba Nation agitators, who reportedly took control of transmission for about one hour.
The individuals who identified as Yoruba Nation agitators arrived at the station around 5 am, pretending to be there to make some enquiries.

They were later arrested by the police
Those arrested were Noah Atoyebi, Adeleke Gbenga, Abdulganiyu Mustapha, Bashiru Kehinde, Ifagbola Elijah, Oladapo Ajani and Rasheed Jimoh.
According to a report by Daily Post, the defendants were brought before the court on Monday on four counts of conspiracy and treason and two counts of armed robbery.
The prosecution officer, Inspector Folake Ewe, did not object when a lawyer for one of the defendants, Barrister Abiodun Adeleke, requested medical assistance for his client, Adeleke Gbenga.
Magistrate Adetuyi ordered that the case file should be duplicated and forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
