BREAKING: Court Affirms Ayade As Cross River Governor Despite Dumping PDP For APC

Prof Ben Ayade, the governor of Cross River State, and his deputy, Prof Ivara Esu, were both found guilty of defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) by a Federal High Court in Abuja.

In 2021, the two split from the PDP and joined the APC.

The PDP had gone to court to have the governor fired because of the defection.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo concluded on Thursday that when Ayade defected, there was an internal crisis inside the opposition party.
