Outrage As Atiku Speaks On Nigeria’s Disintegration

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has today expressed displeasure with the recent happening in the country and begged that Nigeria should be maintained.

Atiku, on his twitter page urges governors in the 36 States to come up with solutions to resolve the endangering problems and not wait for the President.

He explained that the major problem facing us today in Nigeria is that the entire citizenry are drifting, not just politically and economically, but also drifting part from each other.

However, reacting to some of the claims on his page, Nigerians have accused the former Vice-President of some culpability in some act that do not put him in the position to speak about Nigeria’s disintegration.

See some reactions below:

A Twitter user, @AyoBankole said, “Atiku did a long thread about the indivisibility of Nigeria & the need for a national solution & not a regional one – a shade on Asaba declaration. But he failed to call out the injustice of Nigeria’s unity, of herdsmen invading farmlands, pantami, etc. Your hero is a hypocrite.

Another user, @bbegam said, “Atiku will not restructure. He won’t speak on Isa Pantami. He will always stand by his tribe. He will continue to play the ostrich. ” Atiku did not preach that “Sermon on the Mount,” when the Northern governors met.

@FS_Yusuf_ says, “When I tweeted about Atiku’s selective opposition upon his silence on #IsaPantami I had one of d vilest bashing on twitter. Today, he is trying to gaslight southern governors for restructuring. I am actually not interested in d anti-people politics u people play. Make una getat!

@Tutsy22 says, “Atiku and his selective opposition tweets. When @DrIsaPantami was exposed for his extreme views, he was silent.”

Dr. Dipo Awojide, a media Development expert, added his voice saying, “It’s disrespectful to Southerners that Alhaji Atiku didn’t say a word on the very serious allegations against Pantami even after being called out. That issue has been in the news for weeks. But he has quickly jumped on/criticised the progressive demands of Southern Governors.
