BREAKING: Appeal Court Gives Date To Rule On Prophet Sotitobire’s Life Sentence In Kidnap Case Of One-Year-Old Boy

On December 3rd, 2021, a Court of Appeal in Akure, the state capital of Ondo State, indicated it will rule on Prophet Sotitobire’s kidnapping case.

Charles Titilayo, the Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, confirmed the news to press.

Prophet Sotitobire, also known as Prophet Babatunde Alfa, is the founder and director of the Sotitobire Miracle Church in Akure, Ondo State.

Following a lower court’s life sentence verdict on June 6, 2020, he asked the Court of Appeal to reconsider his case.

Sotitobire’s kidnapping trial began in February 2020, and he and six other defendants were found guilty of the allegations.

In November 2019, the priest and six members of his church were revealed to be engaged in the kidnapping of a one-year-old boy named Kolawole Gold from his church.

Adekola Olawoye, the state prosecutor in the case, stated that the ruling showed the truth.

However, the defendant’s lawyer, Akinyemi Omoware, stated that they would challenge the High Court’s decision.
