BREAKING: Blow For PDP As Wike Reportedly Plans To Join APC

Indication has emerged that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike is reportedly planning to dump the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Wike is allegedly scheming to join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, which is the party of President Bola Tinubu -the incumbent President of Nigeria. Although Wike is not a member of the APC, Tinubu appointed him Minister making him a member of the APC-dominated cabinet.

The latest development suggesting that Wike is set to join APC emerged on Monday morning as 27 Rivers State lawmakers who are loyal to him dumped the PDP and officially joined the APC. Reports further hinted that the lawmakers led by factional Speaker, Martins Amaewhule joined the APC as a precursor to Wike’s grand move. This implies that they would have concluded plans to switch party but they decided to join before Wike so that they would know how members of the public would react.

Meanwhile, Wike and his successor, Governor Siminalayi Fubara have been embroiled in a superiority clash of sort in the past weeks which has shaken Rivers State to its roots. The Rivers State House of Assembly seems to be the centre-stage of the political clash between the two politicians which has led to the emergence of two factional Speakers with each loyal to either Wike or Fubara.
