Nationwide Protest Over Hike In Food Prices Coming — Primate Ayodele Warns Buhari Over Economic Crisis

Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, warned President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday about the current economic situation, which has resulted in an increase in the price of critical commodities.

Due to the increase in food costs, which has touched every Nigerian, Primate Ayodele has warned of a nationwide protest.

The cleric stated in a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, that the protests will be severe unless the Federal Government offers a solution to the persisting economic problem.

The masses, including youths, ladies, men, and children, would take part in the statewide demonstration, according to Primate Ayodele.

According to the preacher, the current difficulty will not go away, and unless the government takes action, the country would face significant problems.

He encouraged President Buhari to look into the matter as soon as feasible in order to avoid the stumbling block.

‘’Nigerians will protest because of the hike in food prices. There will be so much hardship which will cause the government the unexpected. The president must see into food matters otherwise Nigeria will go up in flames as a result of this.

‘’The price of things will keep increasing. Essential commodities like pepper, palm oil, and gas will keep increasing and these are what the average Nigerian use on a daily basis,” he said.

‘’The government must do something to avert this coming protest, it will involve the youths, old men and women, it will be very serious. The government needs to look into it as soon as possible.’’
