BREAKING: Many Policemen Feared Dead As Terrorists Attack Security Checkpoint In Katsina

There are worries that seven mobile police officers were killed late Tuesday evening in Katsina State when terrorists, often known as bandits, stormed a security post.

According to SaharaReporters, the incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Sheme-Kankara road in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state.

As the policeman battled the terrorists numbering in the hundreds in a violent struggle, some citizens were alleged to have been killed by stray bullets.

The gunmen also kidnapped an undetermined number of others.

Despite being President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state, Katsina has seen intermittent attacks by bandits and kidnappers that have taken many lives.

In the last five months, gunmen are said to have killed around 700 individuals in the state’s Jibia, Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa, and Safana local government areas.

On December 11, 2020, 344 pupils from Kankara’s Government Science Secondary School were abducted by bandits. A week later, they were released.

On the same day, 84 Islamiyya students from Hizburrahim Islamiyya in Mahuta village, Dandume Local Government Area, were kidnapped but later rescued.
