On Tuesday, February 27, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State stepped out from office and joined labor unions and their affiliates in a peaceful protest.
He gave assurance that the current challenges and hardships in the country would soon come to an end.
Makinde made a surprise appearance at the Total Garden Junction in Oritamefa, Ibadan, where he addressed the protesters. His arrival coincided with the ongoing address by Oyo NLC chairman, Comrade Kayode Martins, drawing enthusiastic cheers from the teeming crowd.
Addressing the gathered protesters, Makinde acknowledged the prevailing hardships and difficulties faced by the people, pledging his commitment to being part of the generation that would bring about positive change in the country.
He noted his correspondence with the NLC national president, Comrade Joe Ajero, regarding wage awards for workers across the states, assuring that their concerns would be relayed to President Bola Tinubu.
