BREAKING: Ex-Women Affairs Minister Ohanenye breaks silence after sack by Tinubu

Former Minister of Women Affairs, Barrister Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, has expressed her appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving her the opportunity to serve in his cabinet.

Ohanenye was one of the five ministers sacked by the President on Wednesday at the end of the meeting of the Federal Executive Council in a move to reinvigorate his administration’s capacity to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, made the announcement while briefing State House correspondents after the FEC meeting.

Aside Ohanenye, the other members of the cabinet who lost their jobs were Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; and Prof. Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education.

Others are: Abdullahi Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.

Tinubu also appointed seven new ministers and assigned portfolios to them, subject to confirmation by the Senate.

Ohanenye, in a short statement she titled ‘Letter of Appreciation’ on Thursday morning, less than 24 hours after she was sacked, expressed her gratitude to the President and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the country.

She also expressed her gratitude to Nigerians for the unwavering support she said they gave her while she was in office.

Ohanenye, a former presidential candidate on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC promised to continue to serve the country and contribute to its growth and progress.

LETTER OF APPRECIATION

I write to express my sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the opportunity to serve as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It has been an honor and a privilege to contribute to the development of our Nation.

I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for her invaluable guidance and support during my tenure as Minister of Women Affairs. Her kindness and encouragement have been instrumental to my success.

To the people of Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and confidence in me have been a constant source of inspiration.

I remain committed to serving my country and will continue to do my utmost to contribute to its progress and prosperity
