BREAKING: Emefiele Arrives Court Over 26 Fresh Charges Against Him

Godwin Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), has appeared at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja to face charges of alleged abuse of office.

Accompanied by Henry Isioma Omole, Emefiele is set to be arraigned on 26 fresh counts before Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Ikeja High Court on Monday morning.

According to the charge filed by the EFCC and dated April 3, 2024, Emefiele is accused of abusing his office between 2022 and 2023 in Lagos. The agency alleges that he allocated over $2 billion without following proper bidding procedures.
