Boko Haram Attacks Civilian Joint Task Force Base In Borno, Kills Two Vigilantes
Militants from the Islamic State-backed Boko Haram group, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jam’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihd, ambushed and killed two officers at a Civilian Joint Task Force facility in Mainok, Borno State.
Mainok is 60 kilometers west of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.
According to SaharaReporters, the terrorists disguised themselves as military guys and arrived in a military convoy, then proceeded to the base and attacked the employees.
During the incident, many more vigilantes reportedly retreated into the jungle.
