PDP Chairman Defects To APC In Delta

Mr. Henry Ughwujowhovwo, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State’s Udu Local Government Area, Udu DSIEC Ward 12, (Egini Community), has defected to the All Progressives Congress, citing petty and selfish politics by some of the party’s leaders as a reason, warning that the PDP was crumbling in Udu but the governor was not being told the truth.

In a remark made after his formal announcement for the APC, former PDP Chairman Henry Ughwujowhovwo stated that by 2023, people who own the land will establish their strength by the votes they can muster, underlining that there will be no reason to boast and that action will speak louder than words.

He went on to say that people eager to abandon the PDP in Udu are more than just party loyalists, because “political patronage now centers around one circle.” By 2023, people in that group who profit from the struggle after general elections will have demonstrated their prowess on the battlefield. ‘Monkey dey work, bamboo dey cut’ is a thing of the past. Many of the party’s supporters are being treated as outcasts, while those who worked against the party in 2019 are being rewarded by the governor’s masters.

“The governor believes all kinds of lies, and 2023 will be the year of vengeance for those who do not wish their neighbors well.” The Okowa-led Delta state government’s pettiness in imbalanced political appointments and patronages, as well as other forms of spiteful political wickedness being displayed across the country, will haunt the PDP in the years to come,” Henry Ughujowhovwo stated.

On Sunday, Honourable Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission, Chief Richard Odibo welcomed the decampees into the APC family, expressing satisfaction over the defection of the PDP Chairman in Egini Community and promising to see that the new members received their dues in the APC.

Others remaining in the PDP and other political parties, Chief Odibo said, should join the APC so they can be part of the campaign to oust the PDP from the state in 2023 and consolidate on President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

Mr Henry Ughujowhovwo, the former PDP Chairman and top grassroot mobilizer, was welcomed into the APC family alongside over 100 other PDP members who resolved to trade their umbrellas for brooms in order to work with the APC to unite progressives ahead of the 2023 election.
