Again, National Assembly Complex Turned To ‘Mini Fish Pond’ After Heavy Rainfall

As it rained fiercely on Monday, the roof of the National Assembly Complex leaked once more.

The main lobby, which connects to the Senate and House of Representatives chambers, was said to have resembled a fish pond during the deluge, which lasted several hours.

The assembly’s domestic staff battled for several minutes to empty the pool of water.

This follows a similar event a few days ago, which resulted in a spat between the National Assembly and the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).

The National Assembly allocated N42 billion to the complex’s refurbishment in 2019.

This drew criticism from some Nigerians, who questioned the amount set aside for the refurbishment.
