AKWA Ibom State Governor and 2023 Presidential Aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, yesterday met with PDP leaders in Lagos to intimate them of his aspiration.
The parley was hosted by Deputy National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Olabode George
Emmanuel was accompanied by the Director General of his campaign, Dr. Gabriel Suswam and Akwa Ibom State commissioner of information, Ini Ememobong, among others.
Governor Udom Emmanuel appreciated the host for his nationalistic roles thus far. He explained the complexity of the myriad of problems confronting the country, adding that all of these require a man steeped in the nuances of the economy to fix.
The presidential aspirant said there is need for professionals like him to go into politics and contribute their expertise in addressing the problems of the country.
Udom said, if elected he would stimulate the private sector for economic growth, and replicate the principles of management in setting up Ibom Airline, which has acquired the reputation of the best airline in Nigeria.

To get Nigeria out of the doldrums, said there is the need to do things rightly to get desired results such as attracting foreign direct investment by creating conducive and enabling environment.
He talked about the need to create opportunities for the youths to stem the brain drain syndrome, adding that as a president that possesses capacity and integrity, he would strengthen the naira through economic revival that will engender national rebirth.
Acknowledging the importance and special status of Lagos, Emmanuel said that a coastal transportation system for Lagos would further expand the economic prosperity not only of Lagos but also Nigeria as a whole.
“Industrialization drive for Lagos will jump-start Nigeria’s economy and strengthen the naira,” he said.
