JUST IN: Tinubu Set To Sack Ministers -Top Aide Reveals
Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy and Coordination and Head, Central Delivery and Coordination Unit, emphasized the President’s commitment to dropping non-performing ministers.
Speaking at the technical retreat for delivery desk officers of federal ministries in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Usman highlighted the seriousness of Tinubu’s dedication to enhancing the lives of Nigerians.
Addressing the delivery officers and directors of planning present, she urged, “We must understand that the president is very serious about his promises, and ministers will be assessed, and ministers will be dropped if they don’t perform.”
Usman positioned the ministerial delivery desk officers as crucial components in providing feedback and tracking progress, emphasizing their role in reporting challenges to the central coordinating and delivery unit (CDCU).
Usman illustrated the evaluation process with specific examples, stating, “As I was saying at the ministry of aviation recently, we will be assessing FAAN on customer experience at the airports; are the escalators, lifts, and conveyor belts functional? How swift is security clearance both for passengers and vehicles in accessing the airport?”
She emphasized the tangible aspects of ministerial performance, citing agriculture as an example, where the growth of the fertilizer use index per hectare is a measurable goal.
Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), represented by former Permanent Secretary Sir Olusegun Adekunle, reinforced Tinubu’s vision for citizen participation in governance. Akume reminded participants of their essential role in ensuring ministries and parastatals fulfill their mandates, aligning with Tinubu’s plan for an active and direct citizen involvement in governance.
