NCDC Records 154 New COVID-19 Cases

154 new COVID-19 cases have been reported to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). On Wednesday morning, the NCDC announced it on its official website.

The new infections represent a drop from the 161 cases reported the day before. According to the NCDC, Lagos State, which is in the epicenter of the fatal virus, has 119 cases, followed by Akwa Ibom-11, Rivers-6, Ekiti-4, Ogun-4, the FCT-2, and Kwara-1.

A multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level II, continues to coordinate national response actions, according to the agency.

So far, 2,362,757 persons have been tested, according to the agency.

Meanwhile, the NCDC stated that, in light of the discovery of the Delta Variant of COVID-19 in Nigeria, it is critical that Nigerians continue to practice non-pharmaceutical or public health measures such as face mask use, social distance, and hand cleanliness to prevent the virus from spreading.
