JUST IN: Real Reason LP Chairman Was Arrested Emerges

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has officially confirmed the arrest of Julius Abure, the National Chairman of the Labour Party.

Abure’s arrest occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

Speaking to journalists on Wednesday evening, Tijani Momoh, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force Zone 5, disclosed that Abure was detained on charges of attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms, and associated offenses.

Momoh elaborated that Abure and four others were apprehended based on a petition filed against them by an undisclosed petitioner.

As Momoh stated, “There are video clips, recordings of the petitioner being assaulted, being beaten when he came home last year to conduct ward matters. It is a case of attempted murder, conspiracy, illegal possession of arms and other related offences.”

The police spokesperson highlighted that during the arrest, the individuals were found in possession of firearms, specifically a short gun and three rounds of ammunition.

He concluded by affirming that investigations are currently underway, with further details to be provided in due course.
