Gunmen Launch Fresh Attack, Nigerian Pastor Killed, Others Abducted
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers killed a pastor and abducted multiple individuals in the Nde community located in the Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River State. The armed men arrived in the community brandishing sophisticated weapons and firing shots before taking the victims into the nearby forest.
The attack occurred near the Nde Community Police Checkpoint, as confirmed by the State Police Command spokesperson, SP Irene Ugbo. They stated that four of the kidnapped victims were successfully rescued. Sadly, one pastor lost his life during the attack, and another victim is currently undergoing medical treatment at a facility in Ikom.
“Yes, there were more than that number; four have been rescued. We are aware that one of the pastors died and one is receiving treatment. The number of those kidnapped could be higher. But we’ve been able to rescue four. And we’re still on it. The incident happened in the Ikom area. And our focus is on that area now,” she added.
