JUST IN: Gov Abdulrazaq, Emir Mourn As Kwara Loses Top Personality (PHOTO)

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has mourned the loss of a top indigene of the state.

The Governor extended condolences following the passing of retired Justice Ahmad Belgore, a former presiding Justice of the Ilorin Division of the Court of Appeal. The Governor’s condolences were conveyed in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday.

The statement conveyed, “Belgore, who was until his recent retirement the presiding Justice of the Ilorin Division of the Court of Appeal, died on Tuesday night. The governor sends his heartfelt condolences to the entire Ilorin Emirate, the bar and the bench, and to the Belgores, who have lost a rare gem. Justice Belgore was a legal giant and a foremost community leader who offered his shoulder for many to lean on.”

In a separate message of condolence, the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of the Kwara State Traditional Rulers Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, lamented Justice Belgore’s passing as a significant loss to the Ilorin Emirate and the nation at large.

Belgore, who passed away in Ilorin at the age of 70, retired from the Court of Appeal on April 18, 2023, just days before his 71st birthday, marking the end of a distinguished legal career.
