Yoruba Nation: Ogboni Leader, Bakare Reveals Why He Didn’t Disappear When He Was Arrested

Tajudeen Bakare, the head of the Ogboni group, who was apprehended in July during a Yoruba Nation protest in Ojota, Lagos, has stated that he chose not to flee when he was arrested by police.

He claimed that he did not disappear because he was arrested alongside other people.

Bakare said he is perplexed by the state’s murder accusations, given that he had no firearms in his possession at the time of his arrest.

”We were not arrested at the Yoruba Nation rally ground. And I did not kill anybody. Or how is it possible for someone who does not have a gun on him to shoot another person to death?” Bakare said in a recent interview with BBC News Yoruba.

Bakare stated that he has not been deterred, and that if another Yoruba Nation rally occurs, he will be present.
