Wike, Makinde visit President-elect Tinubu in Abuja

Two governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday visited President-elect, Bola Tinubu, in Abuja.

The two governors who were prominent members of PDP Group of Five (G5 govs) that worked against the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar – presidential candidate of the party in the 25th February election, asked Nigerians to rally round Tinubu, saying the time for politics is over.

Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress defeated the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party to clinch the seat in the hotly-contested February poll.

Speaking with journalists after meeting with Tinubu at the Defence House, where the President-elect currently resides, Wike said that the time for politics is over and as such the incoming president needs the support of Nigerians.
