Why power should shift to South after Buhari’s tenure – Gov. Sule

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule has explained the reason why President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor should come from the South.

He said having a southerner as the next president is for the peace in the nation.

Governor Sule made the statement during a meeting with the supporters of Umaru Tanko Al-Makura who is seeking election as the National Chairman of the All Progressive Party (APC) at the Government house in Lafia.

“I have never said anything against the agitation for rotation of the presidency to the South. I don’t think it’s a bad idea, for peace in Nigeria, if there is a rotational presidency”, he said.

Mr Sule also spoke about the chairmanship race of the APC, saying the North West has the President and the North East has the Senate President, hence, the best move is to move the chairmanship to the North Central.

The APC national convention will hold in June this year.
