Police Arrest 33yr Old Suspect With Stolen Vehicle In Delta Community

During a regular stop and search along the Warri/Sapele route, the Police dragon patrol team detained a 33-year-old suspect, Akpoyerinebele, with a stolen vehicle, while his accomplice fled the scene.

The police intercepted a grey Toyota Venza with registration number FKJ 420 GT, chassis number 4t3bk3bb0bu056957, and engine number 6668351, driven by the suspect and another person (name unknown).

Just as the driver was being apprehended by the police, the second occupant reportedly took to his heels and bolted into the bush.

In a statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer DSP Bright Edafe, the Delta State Police Command, commanded by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the report.

He said, “Upon searching of the vehicle, a phone number was found inside. During the course of the investigation, the owner of the vehicle was contacted through the phone number found in the vehicle.

“The owner of the vehicle confirmed that the vehicle was snatched at NDC road Ozoro at gunpoint by a five-man robbery gang at about 0100hrs of the same date.

“Manhunt for the other fleeing suspect is ongoing.”
