Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Three Herdsmen, Injure One In Abuja

On Sunday, kidnappers broke into a Fulani community in the Dogon-Ruwa community of Kwali Area Council, Abuja, abducting three herders and injuring one.

Danladi, a resident of the community, said the incident occurred at 1:23 a.m. on Sunday, when the kidnappers arrived in large numbers, wielding AK-47 rifles, according to the Daily Trust.

According to him, the kidnappers broke into two Fulani communities in the community, and one of the herders was injured with a machete by one of the gunmen while attempting to flee.

“It was when one of the herders was attempting to escape that he was attacked with a machete by one of the kidnappers,” he said.

The event was confirmed by Ardo of Fulani, the spokesman for Gwomani chiefdom, Malam Haruna Gambo. He claimed the kidnappers took four herders at first, but eventually let the injured one go.

“It was when they [kidnappers] were leading them [herders] into the bush and discovered that blood was rushing too much in which they abandoned him and went away with the remaining victims,” he said.

He stated the injured herder was being treated at an unnamed hospital.
