EXCLUSIVE: Reuben Abati’s Marriage to 2nd Wife, Lara Crashes
The marriage between the then spokesman for ex-president, Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati to popular business lady, Omolara is over, News Direct can exclusively report.
Abati, who is presently Ogun PDP Deputy Governorship candidate and Lara made their union public when Reuben married Lara a second time at a traditional wedding ceremony in Ibadan in May 2015. This came after few years of being together with two kids (boys). Lara was Abati’s 2nd wife.
For quiet sometime now, many have been wondering the reason behind the sudden silence and whereabouts of Lara. Even though she has always been a very low key person even while Reuben was serving as Presidential Media aide, her absence from the scene for a log period was seen as unusual. Not much has been heard about her in the last 2 years.
News Direct can however, authoritatively reveal you that her marriage to the famous columnist has hit the rocks, and that accounted for why Lara has been off the scene.
The marriage hit the rocks due to irreconcilable differences just months after the grand 2016 wedding in Ibadan, which had the families of the duo two and many top government functionaries in attendance. It was grand such that many top Lagos vendors were moved to Ibadan for the event.
We gathered that Abati has since returned to his first wife.
This development would come as a shock to many who are close to them. Already, those who who are in the know have been asking what could have gone wrong with the marriage as Lara was the one who played the role of the ‘First Lady’ all through the time Reuben held sway at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Also, the much-talked about surprise 50th birthday Lara threw for Reuben in November 2015 is still fresh in the memory of many.
For the duo, it is simply a case of love gone sour. Meanwhile, both Lara and Reuben have kept sealed lips over this issue. It will shock many to know that they have parted ways for about 2 years now.
Right now, they don’t see eye to eye and Lara is the one taking full responsibility of their two sons since they parted ways.
