Female MultiChoice Staff Shot Dead Over Laptop

A woman, reported to be a MultiChoice Nigeria worker, was shot and killed on her way to work along LASU/Iba Road in Lagos State.

After a scuffle, the dead was claimed to have been shot twice in the head by two individuals on a motorcycle.

The two individuals, who were suspected to be armed robbers, had demanded her laptop, but she refused to hand it up.

When she came face to face with the gunman, she had just walked out of Post-Service Estate, where she lived.

One of them pulled out a gun and shot her twice in the head before fleeing.

An eyewitness said: “The lady works with MultiChoice and lives at Post-Service Estate.

“As she came out from the state, heading towards the bus stop to board a commercial bus, a commercial cyclist blocked her path.

“There were two men on the motorcycle.

“They shot her on the head.

“Following the gunshot, she fell to the ground.

“They grabbed the laptop and her handbag and sped off.”

Her mourning father drove the lady’s body to the Iba Police Station and subsequently to the mortuary.

Following the #EndSARS Protest, some residents near the scene claimed that crime, particularly robberies, had increased along the LASU/Iba routes.

Our correspondent also learned that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had dispatched teams of police officers to the axis in response to the escalating crime.

When contacted about the incident and other facts of the case, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer and Chief Superintendent of Police Adekunle Ajisebutu promised to get back to our correspondent, but as of press time, he had not done so.
