Saraki Vs Abdulrasaq: How Kwara Governor Overstepped His Boundary

It appears the current Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrasaq Abdulrahman is overstepping his boundaries.

It is pathetic and sardonic to wake up to the story of how the state government demolished the building belonging to late Olusola Saraki in Ilorin.

The building according to report was demolished in the early hours of Thursday. This step as defended by Murtala Olanrewaju, the Commissioner for Communications in Kwara is to enable the government to carry out its lawful duty.

It is said that while trying to carry out its acclaimed lawful duty, Mr Abdulrasaq led government has simply destroyed what remains a symbol of power and respect for the Saraki family.

According to witnesses, the building, popularly called Ile Arugbo, was demolished at about 4:00 a.m.

Alas, politics is not a do or die affairs. The election has come and gone. The argument of the government that the late Olusola Saraki’s property was acquired illegally does not hold water.

As opine by Bukola Saraki, it is clear to the blind and audible to the deaf that Mr Abdulrazaq is simply trying to erase the history of the ‘Sarakis’ in Kwara which is not wise.

With or without demolition, Saraki legacy remains strong. A four-year term in office cannot just quench the reign since 1999.

Although Bukola of the PDP may not win the 2019 elections in Kwara as the APC won the governorship and legislative seats in the state, he continues to be a force to reckon with.

Abdulrazaq has overstepped his boundary all in the name of personal vendetta. The emergency governor will soon realise that he didn’t emerge because he was loved by the people, he emerged because the people of Kwara were tired of Sarakis reign.

Trust me, Abdulrazaq Abdurahman time will pass too
