REVEALED: 9 Nigerian Pastors Who Gave False Prophecies That Buhari Would End Insecurity, Others

In March 2015, a number of Nigerian pastors and clerics predicted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s arrival would put an end to the country’s instability, economic crisis, and other challenges.

As insecurity and economic collapse deteriorated in 2019, less clergymen stood up for Buhari, assuring the nation that if re-elected in 2019, Buhari will retrace his steps and resolve the country’s mounting security and economic challenges.

Not only have the Buhari administration’s problems of instability and economic recession been nearly intractable, but they have also spawned an increase in violent demands for secession and self-determination.

1. Pastor Sunday Adelaja is the Senior Pastor of the Embassy of God in Ukraine, where he publicly backed Buhari and predicted that his arrival would solve the country’s problems.

“As an army General, I believe Buhari has the rudiments and skills to adequately respond to our national security challenges,” Adelaja said in January 2015, claiming to have been persuaded by God. I back the Buhari/(Yemi) Osinbajo ticket because I believe in the man’s leadership qualities.”

2. The founder of Divine Hand of God International Ministries, Prophet Emmanuel Omale, predicted President Buhari’s victory in the 2019 election, saying his arrival would benefit the poor.

“I am a prophet of God, and by God’s grace, I have been prophesying since I was eight years old. Since then, all the Lord has told us has come true because we hear from Him and not from men.

“God has a special affection for Nigeria. Nigeria is a large nation that is fortunate to have people like us. God loves Nigeria, which is why he reinstated Buhari. Buhari’s return will be for the benefit of the people: the poor will be able to eat three times a day; there will be light (constant power supply); we will have infrastructure; and God will use Buhari to create a new Nigeria, laying a stable foundation.”

3. Pastor Tunde Bakare, Senior Pastor of the Citadel Global Community Church in Lagos State, stated that God revealed to him that Buhari had a role to play in Nigeria’s stabilization.

“After the contentious and divisive 2011 elections, as Nigeria drifted along with sectional undercurrents and the country sought a unifying power, some of us persuaded General Muhammadu Buhari not to leave the stage, but to retract his words and form a coalition of the best of the North and the best of the South to save our country.

“I was an important part of that mission. Bakare preached to Nigerians, “God had shown me in a vision that GMB still had a part to play in stabilizing Nigeria.”

4. In 2015 and 2019, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Enugu State’s Adoration Ministry, endorsed Buhari, saying, “Among all the presidential candidates, Buhari stands in the best position to win the presidential election.”

“We pray for President Muhammadu Buhari; he is a man who understands the situation,” Mbaka said in January 2019. Four years does not equate to eight years; he has completed his four years, and I pray for a peaceful transition so that he can finish the remaining four years.

“The issue of Fulani herdsmen killing all, as they said, has been resolved. The bandits are no longer mentioned; the man has evolved.”

5. The spiritual leader of Christ Deliverance Ministries Inc, Lagos State, is Prophet Ekong Ituen. In 2019, he predicted that “no vacancy in Aso Rock in the next four years.”

When the pastor said Buhari would be “ruthless in combating corruption” during his second term, he warned looters to expect a tough time.

6. Bishop Kayode Williams was the pastor of Christ Vessels of Grace Church and the National Coordinator of Christians for Good Governance.

“We want to observe seven days of special prayer on the seven mountains in the Southwest political zones comprising six states to pray for the victory of Buhari and Osinbajo in the March 28 presidential election,” he said in March 2015, while leading a group of pastors in special prayer for Buhari’s emergence.

“No one should expect a different outcome by doing the same thing over and over again. As a result, Nigerians must get a new baton. In the midst of all the opportunities that God has bestowed upon us, Nigerians deserve a decent life.”

7. The General Overseer of the Christ Apostolic Church, Ori Oke Irapada, is Prophet Christopher Owolabi.

“The current leadership in piloting the affairs of this great country, as revealed to me, will stretch beyond 2019, and there will be a brighter light at the end of the tunnel, socially and economically,” he said in a prophecy in 2019.

8. The General Overseer of the Soul Winning Chapel was Reverend Moses Iloh. He was one of the pastors who endorsed Buhari in 2015 and entered the campaign to ensure his victory. In September of 2018, he passed away.

9. Archbishop Magnus Atilade was the president of the Gospel Baptist Conference of Nigeria and the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria’s South-West region. In 2015, he was a member of the Christians for Good Governance, which was campaigning for Buhari’s election.

He is said to have joined other pastors in praying for Buhari to be elected. He passed away in January 2019.
