Buhari condemns Plateau killings, says no mercy for perpetrators

President Muhammadu Buhari has denounced the barbaric terrorist acts that took place in Plateau’s Kanam and Wase Local Government Areas.

The president said the culprits should not be allowed to escape punishment in a statement released by his spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Tuesday in Abuja.

He went on to say, “They should not be spared or pardoned.”

He directed law enforcement authorities to work closely with the state administration to put the situation under control and to take efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.

Mr Buhari offered his sympathies over the terrorist attack, stressing that peace must be restored to the state and the country as soon as possible.

I urge all our citizens, the people of Plateau State in particular, to expose the perpetrators of such incidents, their sponsors and those who encourage such criminals who carry out these dastardly acts of murder, so that the law will take its course. ”They must not be forgiven,” the president said.
