Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday stormed Kano for this year Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lectures holding at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
Sir Ahmadu Bello, the first Premier of Northern Nigeria was assassinated at 56 during the military coup in 1966.
Osinbajo had arrived Kano on a presidential jet by 10:45 am and was received by Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, member of his executive Council, party stalwarts and thousands of supporters who lined major streets chanting pro-Osinbajo praises.
The Vice President shortly after a brief airport ceremony proceeded to the residence of AlWan Ahmad Hassan located at Dakata General area of the metropolis.
Alwan Ahmad Hassan is an influential member of the New Tribe, pro-Osinbajo group, campaigning that staged a historic meet in Kano last week.
The New Tribe is the apex body angling for Professor Yemi Osinbajo to succeed his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
