Lai Mohammed Leads Nigerian Representatives To Discuss With Twitter Over Suspension
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of a Nigerian government team to talk with Twitter regarding the social media platform’s recent suspension of operations in the nation.
The team, which will be led by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, will also include the Attorney General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Works and Housing, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, and other relevant government agencies.
Mohammed noted that following the indefinite suspension of its operations in Nigeria allegedly for activities that are capable of undermining Nigeria’s corporate existence, Twitter wrote to Buhari seeking to engage with the Federal Government over the suspension, with a view to charting a path forward.
