Police Reacts To Viral Video Of Kidnapped Cousin Of Former President Jonathan

The kidnapped Hon. Mike Ogiasa, a relative of former president Goodluck Jonathan, was seen in a viral video pleading with his captors for money in exchange for their release. The Nigerian Police have responded.

The Hon. Mike Ogiasa was seen in the video, which was made public by unidentified sources, sitting in a six-foot-deep hole that had been dug in an unidentified location with a black hood covering his head. He was appealing with his friends and family to use any money they had to pay his kidnappers to release him because his wrists were tied.

Ogiasa, who appeared to be fearing for his life, was overheard pleading for the ransom to be paid and asking his family if his life didn’t matter to them.

The Spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the authenticity of the video, said the heads of security agencies have met on Friday night to brainstorm on new strategies to ensure he is rescued unhurt.

According to Butswat, the police wants to assure the general public and families of the victim of their commitment to secure his safe release from kidnappers den.

Recalled that Engr. Mike Ogiasa was kidnapped on Wednesday June 2nd by unknown gunmen, numbering eight from his country in Otuabadi in Ogbia Local Government area of the State after coming back home from a meeting.

Engr. Ogiasa is a relative of former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, a former state commissioner for special duties (federal project) and a Special Adviser on power development during the administration of Former Governor Seriake Dickson.
