Police Deny Attack On Boss Mustapha’s Home Town

Boko Haram insurgents and bandits targeted the home town of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, according to Adamawa State police.

The news that residents of Dabna and Kwabre Villages in Dugwaba District of Hong Local Government Area had abandoned their houses as a result of purported attacks was false, according to DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, the State Police Spokesman.

Nguroje told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that anti-terrorism and anti-kidnapping teams, as well as undercover officers, had been dispatched to the region.

He stated that no security personnel have reported that the region has been attacked thus far.

“The command received unverified information that people are fleeing from some villages as a result of alleged Boko Haram attacks.

“As security personnel, we do not play with any information that borders on insecurity.

“The command immediately deployed anti-terrorism squad and intelligence officers to the suspected areas and so far there has been no report of attack or people fleeing their villages,” Nguroje told NAN.
